The flowers in the pot look healthy and pretty, but the shadows on the ground look like they were burned into place by the fierceness of the summer sun.

DeleteI can only imagine. I would be lifeless in that sort of weather. Thankfully our hot dry spell here in Ireland has passed and we're back to more normal temperatures. Our highs reached mid-30s in the back garden a couple of weeks ago, which is way hotter than usual. We're back to high teens now...much more bearable.
