I'm not sure what to call the person who wanders the campus with this cart picking up garbage and cigarette butts. Sweeper?
One of the school cleaners once complained to a group of students about throwing cigarette butts on the ground instead of in the garbage can. "We're giving you a job. You should be thankful," was the reply from one of the students. There are some real bastard in the world . . . . Pardon my French.
Good shot. The contrast between the high and the low tech. Sweeper sounds about right. Pavement sweeper, maybe, as opposed to chimney sweeper. Or Executive VP for Ambulatory Conduit Sanitation, in modern parlance ;)
ReplyDeleteStudents can have a very high opinion of themselves at times...usually before 'life' gives them a good kicking and brings them back to reality.
A kick would do them good. I'd feel better, too. :)
